How does BIM clarify complexity? Imagine a data center at the bottom of a 5.1 m sq', 3650 guestroom hotel tower, then think about all of the MEP active systems converging in the same location. Now try to fit it all in a box half the size it should be without delaying construction or having conflicts in the field during construction... yeah right!

This is where BIM shines! Utilizing clash detection in addition to imbedded intelligence and you can cut down RFI's & change orders drastically. Catching issues before they happen can dramatically decrease construction costs and streamline deadlines.

New Content-Kinetics Noise Control, Inc.

BIM Advent always works hard to ensure that the content creation process is specifically tailored to each product. Regarding this process, we'll be outlining more specifics in the near future in some blog posts and white papers etc.

But for the time being, we'll focus on what sets THESE families apart from the BIM content currently out there.

1. Accurate portrayal of the product. Sure, these will render nice but that's not all. These families (except CIB-L) have between 50-100 types that load in from an included type catalog. Depending on the type, just about everything in the model changes – from the fastener holes to the spring color.
2. Functionality for all applicable AEC processes. Ok, so an architect won't be placing these in their conceptual models but engineers certainly will use them in their designs. These files have embedded information for allowable loads, max deflection, optional baseplates etc. The CIB-L family is an example of function analysis. Ex: As a stand-alone family, the FHS will naturally be awkward to place because it is usually part of a building pad. To assist in the process, the CIB-L pad(Kinetics own product) has the FHS nested into each of the corners.
3. Clean! BIM Advent insists on producing nothing but the best – and that means doing nothing that will frustrate the end users. This means these families have consistently named parameters, all views set to the same scale, they won't "break" when springs are changed, but the most important part of this is that most engineers do not want to see that much detail in their floor plans expecially in mech room plans as there is enough information to show. This is why we hide the springs and the pad is displayed by model lines only. Clean and concise! 
4. Included files. We included the renderings, a dwf export, a schedule file, the type catalog file and an instruction paper to guide users in its use, parameter names etc.
5. … There is nothing else out there. Kinetics did themselves a huge favor by providing designers and construction professionals with their models.  Anybody that is trying to build even a semi-useful building model knows that even 1 missing component can cause frustration.
